Chief Nathan Schools

Chief Nathan Schools grew up in South Gorham and is a 2001 Graduate of Gorham High School. He has been a member of Gorham Fire Department since 1999, when he became a junior firefighter and later an SMCC Student Live In. Nathan has been the Chief of Buxton Fire-Rescue since 2012 and Local Emergency Management Director since 2017. He continues to reside in Gorham with his wife and two daughters. Nathan obtained his MPA in Public Administration with a focus on Fire-Emergency Services from Anna Maria College in 2019 and is a 2010 Graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He serves on the SMCC Fire Science Advisory Committee, as President of the SMCC Live-In Coalition, and President of the York County Fire Chiefs’. Nathan teaches as an adjunct instructor at SMCC and as a State Fire Instructor for MFSI. He is passionate about building leaders and continuing to best support the membership of the department.

Assistant Chief Jeremy Redlon

Assistant Chief Jeremy Redlon is a native to Buxton and has lived in the town for most of his life. He attended SAD 6 (Bonny Eagle) Schools and graduated in 1990 and later attended Northern Maine Community College. Jeremy was introduced to the fire service in the northern Maine town of Eagle Lake and served there for two years before moving back home to Buxton and joining Buxton Fire-Rescue as a paid-on-call member in 1997. He continues to live in Buxton with his beautiful wife, Nichole, and have three children and grandchildren. Jeremy has served in several capacities from Firefighter/EMT, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and since 2020 as Career Assistant Chief. Jeremy enjoys serving the people of Buxton and he hopes to continue throughout his career.

Deputy Chief Jellison grew up in Hollis, before making his home in Buxton. He graduated in 1990 from Bonny Eagle High School and received his Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology from Southern Maine Community College in 1992. Conrad’s first exposure to the fire service was volunteering at the South Hollis Fire Department in 1988, and this is where he first became interested in EMS. Starting as an EMT, moving up to Advanced and finally becoming a Paramedic in 2012. He lives in Buxton with his wife, has three children, one grandson and a granddaughter who is on the way. Conrad has an additional degree in Information Technology, where he works full time as a Vice President at Ion Networking. He is passionate about serving the citizens of Buxton with his fellow members of the department.
